We strive to tell it like it is. Our experience means we've seen just about everything, so please don't hesitate to ask about your timber needs.
Got questions? Get answers grounded in reality.
Here are some of the questions we hear most often from potential customers. If you have a question not covered below, please contact us today.
1. “I’ve got [fill in the blank] acres of timber. What’s it worth?”
No two tracts of land are the same, so we’ll need to visit your property in person to give you an estimate. We’ll help you determine the type of harvest needed, consider your property’s accessibility, evaluate the timber itself, and plan for environmental safety. And we’ll help you choose the right time to harvest, based on market conditions. In short, you’ll have all the facts before any harvest starts.
2. “What size properties do you harvest?”
Most of our customers are landowners with more than 20 acres of timber, though many have much more than that.
3. “Do you harvest timber in my area?”
Generally, we harvest anywhere within a 60-mile radius of Aylett, Virginia, which is about 20 miles northeast of Richmond in King William County. Please refer to our map on the Service Area page. Contact us if you’re not sure whether or not your property falls in that area.
4. “I’m considering harvesting the timber on my land. What’s the first thing I should do?”
Make arrangements to have one of our procurement foresters, Andy Shorter or Frankie Johnson, visit your property. They’ll perform a thorough evaluation and advise you on the best way to accomplish your goals.
5. “What sets your company apart from the competition?”
Our company has been in business for more than two decades; and more than 90 percent of our business comes to us through customer referrals. Ask around, and you’ll see that our longevity and track record of satisfying customers sets us apart from others in the industry.
6. “We just had a storm knock down some trees on my property. Can you haul them away for me?”
Mid Atlantic is set up to perform commercial tree harvesting operations. As such, we aren’t a good fit for those needing tree removal services on residential properties.
